A strong hand like pocket aces can be slow played pre-flop and after the flop. Your pair of Aces cannot have an overcard since they are the highest ranking hand you can have. They are not very easy to out maneuver after the flop especially when a player knows what to do with them. So what do you with your pocket aces when someone raises. Can you slow play these cards? Absolutely but there are certain conditions that must be met:

Heads up

It is very risky to have a single player see the flop when you could have re-raised. Remember that it is always risky when you have multiple players involved.

Good position

If you are on a better position against the preflop raiser, then you have a a higher probability of raking in money. He will most likely go for it and push some chips to the middle upon the flop. If he checks, you can bet and that will just make him think that you have a real hand and exploiting his weakness.

Opponent makes continuation bet

When you slow play, you want the opponent to continue with his initiative before the flop so he can get his most if not all of his chips into the pot.

Money ratio

When the money is a bit shallow, you will most likely be called when you go for an all in reraise. When it is too deep, it might be too risky since there is a chance of outflopping the ace and you end up losing a lot of money. So look at the money ratio and make sure that you have the ideal amount for an effective slow play.

Tony G. as he is called in the poker world was born Antanas Guoga on 17th December 1973. He was born in Kaunas in Lithuania. He is a professional poker player and a businessman as well. His first brush with numbers, strategies and techniques was when he was the Rubik’s Champion of Lithuania. Then his family moved to Australia when he was eleven. He actually got interested in poker when he was eighteen and decided to take it up professionally.

The nick name that Tony goes by is “G” this could be because of the outlandish talk that he so frequents at the poker table. He is usually found intimidating his opponents whom he payers poker against and therefore, the other nicknames that have stuck to him are – The mouth from Down Under and the Australian Airbag.

He lives in Melbourne in Australia which he considers to be his hometown. The Cashes that he has to his credit are forty-nine and the total winnings stand at $2,519,754. The First Place Finishes for Tony G stand at 6.

The last win that Tony had was at the 2009 PokerNews Cup Australia at the event numbered 5 called No Limit Hold’em. Tony G was ranked 11th and won $1,274 on Sep 30, 2009.

He has not won any bracelets so far but it remains his staunch ambition to do so very soon. At the same time he continues to remain not only a popular poker player but also the most recognizable one at that.

Tony G. is not only a great talker and has got the gift of the gab but he can certainly go on to play as well.

Tony G. not only plays at tournaments but continues to have a steady poker income from the online poker games that he participates in. this works to be quite lucrative for him as there are times when he can fetch in as much as $10,000 a week.

He likes to play these poker games the best called Ultimate Bet as ‘wraptduck’ and Full Tilt Poker. He also has part ownership of the information sites, Pokerworks.com, Pokeraffiliateworld.com and Pokernews.com. He also has his own site, which he started in 2006 called www.TonyGPoker.com.

When people meet him outside the poker tables they are surprised at how polite he can sound. That is so unlike the Tony G that they get to see at the poker tables.

The very first victory for Tony came in a Heads Up Pot Limit Omaha tournament. After that he got the creditable fifth in the World Poker Tour’s Euro Finals of Poker main event.

The one incident that sticks on in people’s mind about Tony G is how Howard Lederer had refused to shake his hand in this tournament after being offended by all the talk that Tony G is so famous for at the poker tables.

Whether foul mouth, profanity or no profanity, Tony G continues to remain famous and ever so popular with his poker fans.

Kristy Gazes is based out of Van Nuys in California in the United States. She is one woman professional poker player to be reckoned. She has a great fan following and has to her credit cashes forty and a total winnings of $937,864. She was able to get First Place Finishes at 1.

Kristy Gazes was born and grew up in the LA region. The first person who taught her how to pay poker was her father. When Kristy Gazes turned twenty-one she would often go to the
Commerce Casino along with her friends to play Pai Gow. At one time when she saw the poker tables all set for play she recollected the time that she used to play poker with her father. She joined the game of 7-stud a shot at one of the tables and as they say the rest is history. She enjoyed the competitiveness and the rush of adrenaline that the win at the poker table gave her and from there it was poker all the way. Kristy Gazes had already been a swimming champion and was certainly familiar with the highs of winning. The game of poker became so very enjoyable and almost addictive for Kristy Gazes that many a night she found herself heading to the Commerce Club.

She continued to play poker for ten years and went on to beat some of the best and most renowned of names in the poker business. After that she decided that it was time enough for the biggest mixed cash games. That is when she decided to head for the “No-Limit Hold ‘em Tournament.” She did so well out here that in the very first game of WPT event she was able to be declared a winner. She also went on to become 2007′s Ladies Night Champion. Kristy Gazes has been the only woman poker player to get as many as eleven cashes in her kitty. Another thing to be noted is that she is not a full time professional poker player.

Then in the year 2003, Kristy won the World Championship of Online Poker Omaha High-Low Split. This was a great win for her. Then again in the year 2005, she was able to win the Full Tilt Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. Later on she was able to make it to Aussie Millions.

Kristy Gazes has altogether got with her over sixteen years of poker playing experience. However, in the last few years she has been steadily moving away from the game and playing less. She is more interested in the stock market and day trading. The days she has no tournaments that is what one will find her engrossed in. She has a knack with numbers and gambling and has been making good money out here as well. Kristy Gazes is interested in someday starting a charity that will empower women.

Kristy Gazes continues to remain an opponent to reckon in the professional poker playing circuit.
