Tony G. as he is called in the poker world was born Antanas Guoga on 17th December 1973. He was born in Kaunas in Lithuania. He is a professional poker player and a businessman as well. His first brush with numbers, strategies and techniques was when he was the Rubik’s Champion of Lithuania. Then his family moved to Australia when he was eleven. He actually got interested in poker when he was eighteen and decided to take it up professionally.

Tony GuogaThe nick name that Tony goes by is “G” this could be because of the outlandish talk that he so frequents at the poker table. He is usually found intimidating his opponents whom he payers poker against and therefore, the other nicknames that have stuck to him are – The mouth from Down Under and the Australian Airbag.

He lives in Melbourne in Australia which he considers to be his hometown. The Cashes that he has to his credit are forty-nine and the total winnings stand at $2,519,754. The First Place Finishes for Tony G stand at 6.

The last win that Tony had was at the 2009 PokerNews Cup Australia at the event numbered 5 called No Limit Hold’em. Tony G was ranked 11th and won $1,274 on Sep 30, 2009.

He has not won any bracelets so far but it remains his staunch ambition to do so very soon. At the same time he continues to remain not only a popular poker player but also the most recognizable one at that.

Tony G. is not only a great talker and has got the gift of the gab but he can certainly go on to play as well.

Tony G. not only plays at tournaments but continues to have a steady poker income from the online poker games that he participates in. this works to be quite lucrative for him as there are times when he can fetch in as much as $10,000 a week.

Kristy Gazes: Poker Queen from Van Nuys

Kristy Gazes is based out of Van Nuys in California in the United States. She is one woman professional poker player to be reckoned. She has a great fan following and has to her credit cashes forty and a total winnings of $937,864. She was able to get First Place Finishes at 1.

Kristy Gazes was born and grew up in the LA region. The first person who taught her how to pay poker was her father. When Kristy Gazes turned twenty-one she would often go to the
Commerce Casino along with her friends to play Pai Gow. Kristy GazesAt one time when she saw the poker tables all set for play she recollected the time that she used to play poker with her father. She joined the game of 7-stud a shot at one of the tables and as they say the rest is history. She enjoyed the competitiveness and the rush of adrenaline that the win at the poker table gave her and from there it was poker all the way. Kristy Gazes had already been a swimming champion and was certainly familiar with the highs of winning. The game of poker became so very enjoyable and almost addictive for Kristy Gazes that many a night she found herself heading to the Commerce Club.

She continued to play poker for ten years and went on to beat some of the best and most renowned of names in the poker business. After that she decided that it was time enough for the biggest mixed cash games. That is when she decided to head for the “No-Limit Hold ‘em Tournament.” She did so well out here that in the very first game of WPT event she was able to be declared a winner. She also went on to become 2007′s Ladies Night Champion. Kristy Gazes has been the only woman poker player to get as many as eleven cashes in her kitty. Another thing to be noted is that she is not a full time professional poker player.

Doubles Poker Championship: GSN

GSN’s new poker show, the Doubles Poker Championship is actually quite entertaining. The format feels a little awkward at first, but once you get into it, it’s actually a lot of fun. There’s added layers of leveling possible, and there’s Annette Obrestad bitching it up against all kinds of pros that have won/made more money than her in tournaments and cash games…

She really is the highlight of the show, impossible not to hate her! :)

Barry Greenstein’s Multiway Pot Advice

This is some top notch advice from the Robin Hood of Poker, Barry Greenstein. He’s obviously talking about a very specific Final Table environment, very late in a multi-day tournament; but his reasoning is pretty solid as always.
